I am from the South and come from a family history of Southern cooking. My late brother-in-law grew up in Georgia and I would spend summers with my older sister when she married him and they moved to Georgia. I got to eat with his family and friends when visiting and ate good home cooking Georgia style. This book is wonderful! I promise you this cookbook is absolutely full of genuine great recipes. Many are the same things cooked all over the South, but have that special Georgia Touch. I am an older lady now and this brought back great memories of sitting down and enjoying a delicious meal prepared with love and pride.

I purchased a copy for my mama and my sister/brother-in-law for Christmas. My entire extended family lives in GA, and I knew this cookbook would be quality, true, southern cooking. We weren't disappointed. My family went through each page oohing and ahhing over the delicious recipes that were just like we grew up eating, and some that we had only heard about sitting around the table with relatives. This is the most authentically Southern/GA cookbook I have ever seen, and it's HUGE! There's a recipe for everything you can imagine and some older recipes you've probably never heard of except in historical books. If true Southern cooking is important to you, this cookbook needs to be added to your collection immediately!

You will want to take an afternoon to just sit and read all of the wonderful comments that Lana has put in this cookbook. It really reads more like a novel than a cookbook. There are so many stories and explanations that the book is entertaining as well as a great resource. I planned my entire holiday meal from this one book. I can't say enough good things about this one.
